THIS IS WHAT WE THOUGHT 2008 WAS GOING TO BE LIKE

Kc_padres288861x101_medium

Peavy outduels Sheets in a 3-2 win...snapping the Brewers eight-game winning streak.

The Savior is on fire.

CY is officially on the DL....The Flight of the Falkenborg begins.

The Padres and The Heat are working on a three-year deal.

P-Keg is a very good Triple-A player.

The Mets will open Citi Field on April 14th, 2009 against the Padres.

Former Dodgers party with whores.

We need to get one of these to play catcher.

Mad Dog vs. Jamie Moyer. Old vs. Older. First pitch is at 7:05pm. Big fireworks show after the game!

Anyone else think that the fireworks at Petco are weak?

I don't have to always be right. I just have to always think I'm right.

Comiskey *cough* US Celluar

was a fireworks bonanza. They go crazy with them there. Someone in the Padres organization that I can’t name told me the Padres have weak fireworks because of the Moores’ divorce. So sad

After the win last night...

…Petco shot off these fire jet-looking thingys at the back of the CF fence. They were like flames shooting straight up, like jet engines. Then, they shot off a couple piddly fireworks.

In Chicago, whenever a White Sox player hits a HR, Comiskey fires off a bunch of fireworks, the HR spinners spin, they play “Na,na,na,na…na,na,na,na…hey, hey, hey, goodbye” with a live organ, whilst fans sing along.

They do all this during the day as well. Saweet.

We used to do excessive fireworks after homeruns when Petco opened, remember?

They must have gotten sick of the delay as the huge smoke cloud drifted across the field.

I like fireworks on the 4th of July

and besides that they don’t do too much for me. I rarely stick around when they are Petco.

Agreed

We leave before the fireworks start. Sometimes, I will hang out on T Gwynn Drive and watch.

Comiskey is a bit over the top. the daytime fireworks are rather useless. You just see white puffs of smoke. Its more of a noise stimulation, I guess.

PMac

I know I am going to ignite the PMac haters club, but a guy that mashes AAA this well must be able to hit major league pitching as well. The AAAA label gets thrown out a lot, but usually those guys don’t excel at AAA, they are merely good AAA. PMac treats the PCL like its his bitch. I get the feeling that he’s becoming Jack Cust and he’s going to have to float around the league for a while until Billy Beane needs a LF/DH. It’s too bad there’s no room for the Padres to give him a REAL chance.

I don't have to always be right. I just have to always think I'm right.

consider it ignited

while i don’t hate PFat per se, i definitely don’t think he should be up playing with the Padres. I’m happy for him that he is mashing in the minors, but he sucked up here.

plus we have no room for him.

some guys just aren’t able to handle the step up to the show. (see: Thatcher, Joe)

Just remember this

if he’s a Padre next year and everyone thinks the coaches or FO are blind or retarded or both for keeping him around.

I would’ve picked LeBlanc, but that’s just me.

Whoa!

When I saw the headline about the Savior, I was like “Oh great, what other freak injury can the padres have.” then I was like totally “Was Puhoools here with gasoline and a blow tourch, trying to finish the job” and after clickinc on the like I was totally stoked it was good news.
