Open Thread, July Ninth, Anno Domini Two-Thousand and Eight: Padres vs Marlins

Miami Marlins at San Diego Padres, Jul 9, 2008 12:35 PM PDT

Here I am again. San Diego. Jonny Dub flew out to Charlotte, found me relaxing under a tree, threw me over his shoulder and drove me across the country over five days, kicking and screaming. His own personal Southern Intervention.

The Padres scored 10 yesterday. That is a lot of runs. More than what we scored over the last 4 1/2 weeks or so. My guess? We bust out with 11 today just to stick it to the haters.

Over under on broken maple bats: 3 1/2

GO PADRES!!!

Working east coast hours on west coast time is weird. I forgot to eat breakfast or lunch yesterday. Today I made a sandwich with bacon, egg, pastrami, cheese, lettuce tomato… Only the breakfasty stuff happened at one end and the lunchy stuff towards the other end. I’ve been eating it all day. It helps my internal clock.

Pitcher was lefthanded

Not sure how Myrow hits against his own kind.

I don't have to always be right. I just have to always think I'm right.

Why they keep choosing Thatcher and/or Corey

over Hensley to be with the big league team baffles me. Why?

by kdukat on Jul 9, 2008 3:07 PM PDT reply actions

Corey has been healthy all season

as opposed to Clay.
Thatcher makes a mean cup of tea.

They are trying to keep Clay as a starter

And save his arbitration clock for next year. I can’t blame them for wanting to punt this season and looking towards the future.

I don't have to always be right. I just have to always think I'm right.

Gerut for Khalil

Now I want us to tie it up just so we can see who would play short.
