Smells Like Padres in Here - Monday Edition
The weekend began promisingly enough, but then the Padres remembered that they were the Padres.
In a surprise to exactly no one, Adrian is an All-Star.
Here's a look at some of the Padres competing in the Arizona Summer League.
I read this little essay six times, trying to determine if it was real or satire or something else entirely. After a little research, I'm pretty sure it's real and it's both hilarious and pathetic.
Greg Maddux takes on Ricky Nolasco and the Florida Marlins tonight, as the Padres return home. As much as I'm rooting for 100 losses, it would be extremely nice to see Maddux finally get a win tonight. Game time is 7:05pm PDT.

Rough article
in the UT on Khalil this morning. No other way to say it then that he’s been a disappointment this year.

I don't think he's racist
I just think he wants the MLB to buy American.

I don't really he's trying to be
he’s just treading on a very slippery slope, and he’s not being careful about it.

Racist article indeed
It sounds like they want to see the ‘good ol days’ again. Note to dark people: Be very careful when people start want to go back to the good ol days. It wasn’t good for everybody.
Still waiting for "Baseball Today" to give the Padres some love.

In his defense...
The weekday editions have been pretty light. Or should I say “weakday editions”?

I got so caught up
in the baseball as the Nationalists’ pasttime piece that I just noticed the Arizona Summer League article. Some pretty intriguing stuff, ranging from Decker “show[ing] off his batting stance” to Codiroli “watch[ing] a foul ball.”

Yay for Press Pass!
Today Glen Hoffman turns 50, sharing his birthday with Michelle Kwan and Ringo Starr, among others.
Tonight, we could win our 200th game at PETCO. (199-172 overall)
Edgar (known to some as Skinny Me) went 1 for 4 yesterday, leading all ML rookies with .308 batting avg on the year (100 AB minimum).
The Fightin’ Gonzali are .288 with 16 doubles, 16 HR, 56 RBI, and 45 R in 97 games since becoming The Fightin’ Gonzali.
Lots more fun Adrian stats, too. Tied for 2nd most HR by a Padre before the break, with Nate Colbert and Dave Winfield. (Greg Vaughn leads with 30)
