BAEK WAS DEALING ON THE 4TH
Cha Seung Baek lost his no-hitter with two outs in the sixth inning when Stephen Drew hit a double into the gap in right-center.
Baek's victory was the first win for a Padres starter sine June 12th.
Michael Barrett will be out a minimum of six weeks.
There is a new leader in the Strasburg: The Washington Nationals.
Nick Hundley is happy to be getting his chance.
La Russa vs. Edmonds. "Didn't he play in a bunch of postseasons?" La Russa asked rhetorically. "How many postseasons did he play in before he got here?"
The Rockies erased a 9-run lead by the Marlins to win 18-17. Jason Elam nailed a 52-yarder as time expired.
Former Charger Terrence Kiel was killed in a one-car automobile accident late yesterday.
If you haven't seen the video of Kevin Youkilis' triple, you need to.
Once again, Joey Chestnut makes America proud. "He wanted it, but I needed it."
Jake vs. Doug Davis. Jake is not very good at Chase Field: 3-6 with an ERA of 6.18. First pitch is at 5:10pm.

no front page treatment?
what did you DO? look, I’m just glad we won yesterday. Good situational hitting and just another reminder that when you’ve given up the padres up for dead, they will twitch just enough to show they are alive, just before dissapointing us all again for being suckers.
Bring back Balboa Stadium.
