But I would hate to see the Dodgers win it, and then have more people think that Torre is a god or something.

to be the spoilers and take down the leaders even if we can’t catch up, which we probably can’t- we could shake it up a bit and get those other teams a bunch of losses

How about a new rule where there are two wild card teams in a league if one division fails to produce a .500 team? It could actually happen this year, with the NL West’s entrant into October 2008. I don’t think it’s mathematically possible to have two divisions with only sub .500 teams…

I really don't see
How playing them factors in. If we can get something in return it’s worth it. This season is a lost cause. We still have a chance, but we should look to the future way more than we look to the present.
