Around SBN: Knicks 90, Raptors 87: "Shump and Lin wouldn't let us lose."

Q&A with Petco Park GM

Q: I remember all the complaints about cold food, the hot dogs ... everything, it seemed.
A: "It was terrible. At times, it had us reeling. But from the top down, everyone wanted to make it better. Not just work, but better. Today, I'd put our food up against anyone in baseball. But we continue to hear the fans."
Q: How do you hear the fans?
A: "(CEO) Sandy (Alderson) holds five to six round tables a year with continuing fans and past ticket holders. And each game, we have from four to six mystery shoppers who go to concession stands and restrooms. You have to stay on top of things."
Q: Do you still inspect the entire building before every game?
A: "Mark Fisher and his crew. They walk the entire ballpark. We talk top to bottom every day. We don't bat a thousand, but it keeps us accountable. We check every restroom, look down every aisle. Cleanliness."
