When the Dayton Dragons and Peoria Chiefs rumble, nobody is safe
I love that the pitcher decides to wind up and try to hit another player with the ball, only to miss and hit a fan. I hope the fan's OK, but wouldn't it be great if he was in the stands, yelling, "FIGHT! FIGHT! *clonk* OMG! MY EYE!!!"

this was a disgrace.
"I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day. " ~Frank Sinatra
well
I’m from Cincinnati (Dayton kinda like i guess the Escondido of Cincinnati), and Dayton Dragons games are really top notch minor league experience. I was actually kinda relieved that it wasn’t a Dragons player, although I suppose I shouldn’t have been.
Messed up.
that guy's got a chuck knoblauch arm
“chuck knoblauch throws in to the stands and hits, of all people, my mother.”
but in all seriousness, this was disgusting. i’m all for the benches clearing and a couple guys throwing punches, but don’t bring props.
it just makes the game look bad.

Couple of things about this story.
Here is the article detailing what happened.
Originally, the two umpires ejected both managers and 15 players, eight of them Dragons. That meant to continue, each team had to use two pitchers in the outfield.Midwest League president George Spelius was contacted by telephone, and when he consulted with the Reds and the Cubs (Peoria’s parent), he was told neither side wanted to play with pitchers in the outfield.
So he reversed the ejections so the game could continue.
Red GM Walt Jocketty was at the game.
The manager of the Peoria Chiefs is Ryne Sandberg. But due to the fact that Sandberg is in Cooperstown for the Hall of Fame weekend...the interim manager (yes, the idiot trying to fight the other idiot manager) was none other than former Padre Carmelo Martinez.
While Sandberg is away, Carmelo Martinez will be managing the Chiefs. Martinez, a teammate of Sandberg in 1983, was originally assigned to be the Chiefs hitting coach in December, but later in the off-season he was promoted to Latin American Field Coordinator for the Cubs.
I always hated Carmelo
Always called him Marshmellow.

Update
$50,000 cash bond set for Julio Castillo.
A judge on Friday set a $50,000 cash bond for Peoria Chiefs pitcher Julio Castillo on a felonious assault charge stemming from his beaning of a fan Thursday during a brawl between his team and the Dayton Dragons at Fifth Third Field.Castillo appeared via video Friday afternoon, July 25, before Dayton Municipal Judge Carl S. Henderson. Castillo, speaking through an interpreter, told the judge his passport is with his teammates in Peoria, and Henderson ordered that the passport be surrendered.
Preliminary hearing set for 9 a.m. Aug. 1
Castillo’s attorney, Kevin Braig, said Castillo has no prior offenses and the team takes the charge very seriously.
Friggin Cubs
No matter where you are in the organization…you’re surrounded by scum.
How’d one of the guys break their leg? Didn’t look like any serious fighting going on.
Dudes
That’s a crazy fight. Don’t you see that dogpile? There are clearly guys getting kicked on the ground. Watch on the dogpile closely and you’ll see guys get flipped end over end. Towards the end of the video, look on the left side of the screen and you see how there’s guys wrestling on the ground. Not to mention that initial tackle.
Great fight!
