CLAY & THE PADRES POUNDED BY THE PIRATES 9-1

 Bud_medium

Clay gets shelled and the Padres lose their 26th game in their last 33 outings...this time to the Pirates, 9-1.

The numbers are ugly.  The Padres have now scored two runs or fewer 41 times.

Bard will be back behind the plate tonight.

Apparently Giles gets his weed from the same guy Aid does. "We're just a couple of pieces away."

TheMets and Padres are dicussing a deal for Brian Giles?

Gerut returns to the scene of the crime.

We're holding onto the lead in the Strasburg by a thread.

Baek vs. Zach Duke. First pitch is at 4:05pm.

1st inning

I was like, “Hey, look at Clay, getting ahead of batters!”

By the 2nd I remembered, “Oh right…....we suck.”

Wrong again, Drama.

All of us Gonzalezes get it from the same guy. I’m pretty sure Brian scores his at Black’s Beach.

On my way to Maryland for a week...

And as far as how life’s treating me, well… usually somebody tells me what I did the next day. So pretty good.

Per sdsuaztec4's suggestion...

Check out the front page of the GLB. Dex has kindly added a “Race for the Strasburg” standings feature.

Take that Lookout Landing!!!

Agreed

we probably taking that 11th grader I saw play yesterday. He didn’t make his HS team, but he was shaggy those balls like a pro. Never seen a guy take so many steps to move so slow. But he was able to catch those tennis balls while holding a corn dog.

Heard KT, thinks he is the best “value” player in the 1st round.

"holding a corndog"?

Is that Paul’s younger brother? Buford McAnulty?

This young child from Venezuela

Has been clocked hurling spears into the forest canopy at 80-84 MPH.
Scouts are currently flocking to the Amazonian backwaters searching for the “next big thing”... The Padres FO speculates that he has the makeup to be one of the leauge’s elite eighth inning specialists. We are sure to be hear more about this young Wachukiiituwana indian phenom in the near future…

You're Trippin

He is the ONLY college player on the olympic team and he is their ACE. He is going to fly through the minors.

Just found this gem

“Since joining the U.S. national collegiate squad in June, Strasburg has made five starts and compiled a record of 3-0 with a 1.33 earned run average. Over his 27 innings of work, he has struck out 40 and walked four while limiting opponents to a .160 batting average.”

Plus other team's fans refer to the race for last as The Strasburg too

And they don’t have a hometown bias. If I can’t root for getting the Stras, what can I root for this year? Why do you want to take that away from me (and Tec)?

His arm's gonna fall off

Right after we draft him. It’s the Padre way.

I shared it intentionally

You guys are too uptight about this Strasburg thing. What will be will be.

Giles Deal

I agree with FO that Giles would be one of the best OP on the FA list next year (if he was a FA, since it is a really poor crop), but trading with the Mets would be AWESOME.

KT will destroy Omar, Infact he may throw in Joba Chamberlin in the deal, even though he is not even Mets propierty.

I am giddy like a school girl over this one.

Two Gaslamp Soldiers have crossed over enemy lines, into the Lookout Landing!!!These brave men (Drama and WG) made quick work of the Mariners fans with their sharp witted jabs and no holds barred commentary. Congratulations men!
Sadly, the fight has just begun and I imagine that many more of us will be enlisted to carry the torch for GLB and Padres Fans everywhere.
