Around SBN: Falcons and Chargers Recap: The Win Is The Thing Bar-right-arrows

Sucking on the road, Part III

Yes! A loss again! And in extra innings no less. I thought Meredith would show he still couldn't handle left handed hitting and lose it, but Corey shows that he is chopped liver and loses it instead. The family sitting next to me was happy. Three young kids and a cranky mom that may or may not have been overburdened (but hey, who am I to judge?).

I went to batting practice today. Apparently Brian Giles, Chase Headley and Adrian Gonzalez are the only ones who can take BP with some power. We started in left and chased AG and Briles balls for a while (we also saw Hoffman signing some balls for Cincy fans). We then switched to left for Khalil, Hairston and Kouz. Instead we were treated to short flyouts and some pathetic liners. The only thing more pathetic than that was our BP time in Coors last year where only Colt Morton cleared the fences. Sigh.

We retreated to the Machine Room, which is kind of like the bar at the Western Metal building, but with a full restaurant. I don't recommend it. Beer prices are the stadium prices (better than Petco though) and the food is not good. So, I've now come to the conclusion that there is no good food in GAB. I'll probably try a brat or Italian sausage tomorrow, but maybe I'll just try to find to find some pizza somewhere outside. I wonder if Pittsburgh will be able to impress us (I know Pierogis are big there, but I'm not sure where to get them).

Maddux tomorrow (almost later today here), I have no optimism that we will win. Go Nats and Mariners (no hope for either really).

"I have no optimism that we will win."

Looks like you’ve got a bad case of 2008 Padres Fever. Sorry, Wonko, but there is no cure for this disease. We suffer with you.
Besides the losses piling up, sounds like a sweet vacation.
