Smells Like Padres in Here - Tuesday Edition

The Reds must be awful because we beat them.  A ninth inning rally and Trevor barely escapes.  Seems like old times.  If, in olden times, we were11.5 back.

It appears CY is pretty close.

Padres are learning from rookie mistakes.  They should be genuises by the end of the year then.

A NYT piece on the Domincan scandal.

Peavy versus Cueto tonight.  At first I thought it was Peavy versus Cujo and I was like "Now THAT would be an awesome matchup."  Anyway, game time is 4:10pm PDT.

is this actually true?
The Padres are now 1-53 this season when they trail after eight innings. That’s an actual stat. It makes France’s war record look good

There aren't enough French people in the world

to defend a hole that large.

Do I win?

Seriously

Is that for real?

I mean, I have no reason to doubt it, based on what we’ve seen. But that is a frightening stat.

thats what i’m trying to figure out, and i’m wayyyy too lazy to go through the game logs on baseball reference.

It's a real stat.

It’s been 0 all year long, now it’s one. Darren Smith has been carrying the 0-for-infinity banner on the radio almost every day.

Who would've thought in May...that by July...

Hairston’s hitting .269.
Eddie G .321
Giles .301
Agon .279
Kouz .278
Gerut .275
Headley .269

... a potent lineup… absolutely lethal.

That is a potent lineup!

How’s the bullpen?

I don't have to always be right. I just have to always think I'm right.
