Tony Clark could be traded to the D-Backs today.
"The Diamondbacks appear to be closing in on a trade with the San Diego Padres that will bring first baseman Tony Clark back to Arizona.
After significant discussions in recent days, a deal could be final as soon as today, according to a major league source, who said the Diamondbacks will give up a minor league prospect in the trade."

Sounds like a win-win. Tony goes home
and we get another prospect!
I am 100% confident that the San Diego Padres win the World Series in 2011.

Albatross
Arizona is home to him. They all love him there. He’ll probably get more playing time.

Scene in the Padres clubhouse today:
Adrian quietly standing in front of his locker getting dressed…Brian Myrow walks up behind him and whispers into his ear – “You’re next, bitch.”

Wasn't Giles doing that to people last year?
I think I remember hearing a story like that.

Wouldn't it be funny
If all we got was Leo Rosales back?

And Tony
will promptly go on a tear, hitting about .330 for the rest of the season with 5 HRs off the bench. At least three of them will come in late innings when the Padres are leading by 2 or fewer runs.

Done deal....
The Padres will get Single-A pitcher Evan Scribner, who is 0-1 with a 1.86 ERA in the Cal League. A right-hander who will turn 23 on Saturday, Scribner entered the season with a 2.85 ERA in 47.1 innings and a strikeout/walk ratio of 61/14.

It doesn't say who gets the callup
or who gets the 40 man roster spot.
I’m going to assume for now that our favorite human-keg hybrid will get re-promoted.

I wonder why they wouldn't give Venable a shot ?

No use wasting Venable's service time
by having him be a ph for the bug club. PMac is a good fill in since we don’t have to worry above messing up his development.

Hensley?
I read somewhere they would add a reliever – back to the 12 man staff – with the upcoming 17 games in 17 days.

It doesn't seem smart
To call up the reliever at the beginning of the trip. You should take the extra bat and call up with the 12th when you need him. Of course, if the bat is PKeg then you’d have to expose him to waivers again, blah’d’blah blah.
You could call up Stansberry for a few games and send him down when you need the 12th. You also could leave Clay Hensley working as a starter (we may need him there if we trade Wolf and/or Maddux) and add another reliever to the 40 man then call that reliever up, not real sure who that would be though.
I don't have to always be right. I just have to always think I'm right.

It will be a pitcher, not P-Mac, that would not make sense, heres what the web site says
The Padres won’t make an official roster move on Thursday, but will likely add pitcher Clay Hensley to the 25-man roster on Friday.

Now we're getting somewhere
I like how questions like “can Brian Myrow become a serviceable backup 1B/PH behind Adrian for the next couple years?” become the main ingredients to watch for in the Padres second half.
Actually I don’t like it. But I can’t help but feel that way.
