Another reason why Bud is a bad manager.

Jody Gerut has been completely forgotten about. I know Hairy is hot right now and The Savior needs to be in the line-up everyday…but Giles has been hurt and RF should be Jody’s until Giles gets back. When every guy on the team except Aid was sucking…Gey hit .323 in the month of June. All of the sudden, Hairy gets hot and Bud forgets Gey is even on the team. In our last five games he’s started one game and had a total of 6 at-bats. Stupid.

by Drama on Jul 11, 2008 6:50 PM PDT   0 recs

Gerut

black listed and reported to committee of un-American activities.

by jbox on Jul 11, 2008 6:51 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

I think it's because of the lefty-lefty,

He doesn’t hit lefties well at all, I heard them say, and besides, why would you take Scotty out? I also heard them say Gerut can’t really play right field

by kdukat on Jul 11, 2008 7:40 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

He can play center and left...but not right?

I don’t want them to take Hairy out. I want Gey in RF over Chip Ambres.

And I don’t buy the lefty-lefty thing…when he’s had the chance to bat against lefties this season..he’s hit .282 in 39 at-bats against them.

by Drama on Jul 11, 2008 7:44 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

One more thing about Gey.

He’s played in more career games as a right fielder (210) than as a left fielder (59) or a center fielder (77) combined. He can play right.

by Drama on Jul 11, 2008 7:58 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

It's not my personal opinion

just what I was hearing from the announcers a couple of nights ago. He does have two rebuilt knees, maybe he is just resting them like someone else said

by kdukat on Jul 11, 2008 7:59 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Oh. I know.

I’m just very defensive of my Gey.

Starting Chip Ambres three nights in a row while a guy that hit .334 in June sits on his ass is stupid. Typical Harry.

by Drama on Jul 11, 2008 8:02 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Yeah, maybe there is something we don't know

about him asking for time or something

by kdukat on Jul 11, 2008 8:03 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Speaking of which

He’s making rehab assignments in low A

True

but Chip Ambres is really named Raymond Payne, which totally rules

Bud's not a bad manager

He just has bad days. We all do. As far as Gerut goes, he probably asked for the days off. You gotta remember bro, that he is coming off a couple of years of not playing and the grind could be getting to him. Go Padres! I know you can win!!!!!!!!

This is a good pregame show tonight

Padres wives, Chrissy Russo and 1998 highlights.

by jbox on Jul 11, 2008 6:50 PM PDT   0 recs

Let's see...

Adrian’s, Hairston’s and Bard’s.

by jbox on Jul 11, 2008 6:56 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

And?

Did they all seem nice?

by Drama on Jul 11, 2008 7:00 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Very polite

They are all out and about at the stadium selling gift bags for 40 bucks that have a signed baseball of random Padres. It was a good cause, now I can’t remember.

by jbox on Jul 11, 2008 7:03 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

It was Edgar's wife

I only know that because I saw their One on One and that was her, Christina Gonzalez, Adrian’s wife is named Betsy.

Tonight

Tonight is Out at the Park night at Petco.

So, if a GLBer doesn’t make a comment in the Open Thread tonight…it’s safe to assume they are at the game…which means they must be gay.

(This does not apply to WG. WG is in Dallas. But if he were in San Diego he’d be prancing around the Toyota Terrace in a pair of hot pants and a half shirt.)

by Drama on Jul 11, 2008 7:17 PM PDT   0 recs

Kotsay

I can’t believe he’s still in the League…with all his back injuries and others…I just never thought he’d hang around this long.

And really…it’s just honoring Mark Kotsay.

by Drama on Jul 11, 2008 7:45 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

omg

Sorry for chiming in way after the game was ended, but over on my side of the fence, we post this picture after every Braves win. However, we photoshopped it to represent our own colors, and have a corresponding jersey color for whatever we’re wearing that day. Sample:

We posted the quad-version in honor of our sweeping of the Mets in four-straight earlier in the season.

Unfortunately, sad to say (for us), but good for you guys tonight; we haven’t been posting the image much more a whole lot this season. :(

No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.

by royhobbs on Jul 11, 2008 11:49 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

I'm biased

but this is my favorite Jamie Kotsay moment.

by jbox on Jul 12, 2008 7:09 AM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Wow

You guys here are as gonzo about Jamie Kotsay as we are. Later this season, they’re doing a “Braves Wives Mystery Ball” promotion, where Braves wives’ (hopefully including Kotsay) will be walking around Turner Field, selling mystery bags with an autographed baseball inside of it. Several of us have decided that it is imperative to find Jamie Kotsay that evening.

No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.

by royhobbs on Jul 12, 2008 9:06 AM PDT to parent up   0 recs

However . . .

Do you guys have shirts???

Never mind that #21 is a retired Braves number (Warren Spahn). It adds to the ironic humor that Jamie Kotsay holds higher priority to one of our own retired legends.

No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.

Hmm are they GLB shirts, or are they Jamie Kotsay shirts? ‘Cuz Talking Chop doesn’t even have their own shirts, but the Kotsay shirts were made independently, for ‘Choppers.. . regardless, I’d love to see what your guys’ shirts look like, if I may have a link please?

They always call him the Crushin Russian, but I heard another teammate say the name is more like Macedonian/Serbian, so it should be Mashin Macedonian
