Around SBN: Tiger Woods, Tony Romo Grouped Together At Pebble Beach

Chatted with all 4 guys. Chase was really cool. Said they made him dress like a cow last year, but it was way better than dressing like a girl. I guess the players haze the rookies this way. He’s afraid he’ll have to do something this year too though because he’s still a rookie. I tried to get him to serve me a Bass beer but he said he could only serve Miller light. it was funny all the guys were just hanging out and drinking beers and taking shots behind the bar. Brian Myrow was nice. Seemed mature. I think I just got his autograph. And Cla was really nice too. Now Kooz was an interesting guy. I found him in the back of the bar talking to one of my friends. He said he was hiding out. His security guard was standing near by looking bored. This one girl was beaming and kept telling me that Kooz asked for her number. He seemed wasted. I asked him if the clubhouse got all quiet when they lost. He said, yeah I’m used to it now. We suck! He was really bitter. I looked at him and said, OMG Kooz you’re not supposed to talk like that. I got a picture with him but I’m not sure I’ll get it. The girl who took it I dont’ know. i did get some pictures of the guys behind the bar but i have to figure out how to get them off my phone into the internet. Anyway…it was a blast. The place wasn’t even that crowded. It was totally easy to have conversations with these guys. Oh one more thing. It was funny, this guy came over to Kooz and said, "5 minutes and we can leave". Kooz said, "Oh, that’s ok, I think I’ll stay and bartend. I have nothing better to do." Guess he likes to get drunk on his days off. He also told my friend that he wouldn’t mind being traded to the Giants.

Agreed, the Pours were a blast

The Padres at Basic didnt “pour”, they got a bottle, opened it, and handed it to you.

The players at the Fleetweed actually poured. And they made and mixed them, too.

It was all fun, though, and I hope the charities made out well.

I have 21 photos in a Webshots album. I could post the link, but I would rather not.

He also told my friend that he wouldn’t mind being traded to the Giants.

I mean, they’re only 7 games back…..

I think you're taking Kouz out of context

Come on guys, if someone asks you if the clubhouse gets quiet when the team loses and Kouz supposedly says “I am getting used to it” DOES not mean that he wants the team to lose or he accepts the losses. It just means he unfortunately has to get used to it. Think about it, he was a rookie last year on a team with a winning record, so he doesn’t have a lot of experience with losing necessarily. This post was made by someone who was probably eniabriated when this all happened and maybe Kouz was slightly, too. I am sure he frustrated at the season, I even heard him say so to the whole crowd. After all, on the Sunday Arizona game, HE was the one stranded on third with less than two outs TWICE. He’s been hitting the ball pretty well, but no one has gotten on base ahead of him and no one has hit him afterward. I will do my fan post of Celebrity Pour which was a great night. I am not going to post pictures, however, there was no way to do them without putting them on the Internet first in a private location/

Lincecum, Cain, & Molina

Straight up. We’ll thrown in Thatcher, maybe.

I don't think

..anyone is taking a drunken 3rd person account of what Kouz said as court testimony.

I do believe he was trying to get laid, though.

by Dalton on Jul 11, 2008 10:21 AM PDT up reply actions

You might be right on the trying to get laid thing...

but that is no different than any guy in any bar that starts chatting up ladies, he just happens to be a little more famous.

by kdukat on Jul 11, 2008 11:40 AM PDT up reply actions

Agreed

Why is everyone acting like it’s shocking that Kouz is frustrated? The guy is a human being. We’re all guilty of pulling our hair out, throwing our remotes, and screaming at our TV’s when these guys can’t get a runner in from third… imagine how it feels to BE the guy standing at third.

The only thing he said that bothered me was the trade to the Giants thing, but the source of that info is shaky enough for me to completely dismiss it.

yeah but

Kooz pulled waaay too much hair out.

The source is solid.

In all fairness

you shouldn’t just assume someone is inebriated because they quote something from Kooz that doesn’t reflect positively on him.

by jbox on Jul 11, 2008 11:17 AM PDT up reply actions

True, it wasn't the quote that bothered me

it was the implication of what that meant and the context of it. It was assuming that he meant it one way. But I can imagine that he is frustrated like they all are. We all have bad days at work and go to a bar to blow off steam, we just aren’t public figures so when we tell someone about our job that we don’t like, it doesn’t end up on a blog the next day! That’s why I won’t say whether or not I thought any of them were drunk or reveal exact conversations-positive or negative.

by kdukat on Jul 11, 2008 11:30 AM PDT reply actions

I don't really have a problem with Kooz saying that

at least he’s being honest. I’m used to the team losing too and believe they suck also.

by jbox on Jul 11, 2008 11:56 AM PDT reply actions

I don't either, my problem is with

someone being honest being chastised on this blog especially when all parties involved in the conversation might have been drunk. To wish him for to go hitless and committ errors just isn’t nice. Maybe I am too nice for this blog. I don’t mind Adrian trying to stay positive, though, either. I think he recognizes it’s a long shot, but in the game of baseball, you never know. Who knew the Rockies were going to surge and the Mets were going to lose their huge lead?

Definitely not the Rockies fans

Judging by their sparse attendance when I visited Denver last year.

I don't have to always be right. I just have to always think I'm right.

I really think

you might want to read thru about a year’s worth of posts here. You would then realize that only about 1% of what is said here is to be taken seriously.

The post above

Entitled “I really think” by Winfield’s Ghost is a part of the 99% you should not take seriously. Keep THAT in mind.

I don't have to always be right. I just have to always think I'm right.

Basements and pants don’t mix.

It's the 3-girl rule

for us girls entering GLB.

There’s the smart one, the cute one, then there’s the ho.

Guys are always trying to figure out which one the ho is.

We always keep them guessing, though.
