Vote for an outfielder for our fictional All-Star team

The problem with this vote is that we need to get three outfielders, but SB Nation polls only allow one vote.  I guess we'll just look at the data and take the top three vote getters.  We may have to make a judgment call based on comments too.  If you want to vote for your top three via comments then do that and we'll take it into account.

We could have a problem if everybody votes for Roy Hobbs.  Let's just see what happens, shall we?

Outfield: Roy Hobbs, Willie Mays Hayes, Stan Ross, Bartholomew 'Bump' Bailey, Benjamin Franklin Rodriguez, Kelly Leak, Bobby Rayburn, Max 'Hammer' Dubois

Willie Mays Hayes

Speed comes to the ballpark every day and night.
It doesn’t rely on magical bats that will probably break.
It can be used to beat out in infield hit, possibly pushing one up and over 3,000.
It’s not a Dodger
It’s not a Giant
It’s not trying to creep me out with its mustache

Stan Ross

I love the lines he gives in the movie… the opening scene is classic but my vote went to Hobbs.

... was a Dodger. Main reason I didn’t vote for him.

Roy Hobbs

Plays good defense and probably had the greatest statistical offensive season in the history of baseball. Considering he came up about a 1/3 of the way into the season.

This shouldn’t be close!

Let’s not forget what happened between Major League and Major League II. Prima Donna movie star who hurt himself. Who needs that distraction every season?

shame I could only pick one

I voted for Hobbs. He’s got lightning bolts on his side.

I do want to include Hayes and Moss though, although I believe Moss is a first baseman now. Hayes gives us a great ability to manufacture runs while Moss can sit in the dugout and teach the kids how to play.

And of course, we are only referring to the Major League Hayes, played by Wesley Snipes. The Omar Epps “Hayes” should be a different player entirely.
