Around SBN: Reflections on the Best Blazers Month In Forever Bar-right-arrows

Smells Like Padres in Here - Friday Edition

Finally, we've found something that McAnulty is good at - using his bulk to get in the way of a pitch.

Updates on CY and Jake.

Here's a look at the future.  (Hey we got a shortstop with our last pick yesterday.  Nice.)

This guy thinks our catchers suck.  The argument is incomplete because there is zero mention of our pitchers.   I hope you guys let him know.

The Wolf goes against Santana tonight.  Game is 7:05pm PDT.

well..

He may have neglected to mention the pitchers, but he did get one thing right:

Free agents? I’m sure there may be a couple, but Towers doesn’t like to spend money—and when he does, it’s on a 43-year-old, used-to-be All-Star. So, I just don’t see that happening.

ESPN seems to be missing Edmonds from that list

Displaced San Diegan living in Florida here

Just wanted to say that Cole Figeuroa is a hell of a ballplayer. Also, even though he switched to SS, he is a natural 2B, and I think more valuable at that position.

Figeuroa

is really, really good. I watch him in a few tournies and was assuming he be a gone in the First 3 rounds. I think he is one of those players that no one appreciates because his last name is Figueroa.

Sure, our catchers aren't great, but

A quick look at caught stealing percentages will tell you that Carlin’s puts him just above mediocre, and he is but a rookie. Also, the guy fails to mention that Barret’s one success at throwing out a baserunner was due to the runner sliding off the bag.

If almost every other day

catchers are going 0 for 4+ throwing out runners an account of who’s starting, those numbers will never look good.

It only took Luuuuke one put-out for them to realize he can get ‘em anyway.

The Draft

Anyone else get the weird feeling that the fences at Petco are going to be moved in? I bet they get brought in before Opening Day 2010.

by Drama on Jun 6, 2008 12:36 PM PDT   0 recs

Why do you think that?

If anything, I was thinking that they drafted for the dimensions in place – a bunch of mashers.

What the?

Totally missed yesterdays game, heard it was another freak show though. We win by a hit by pitch, we lose iguchi and by all accounts left more men on base than in vietnam!!!

I’m going to the game tonight, anyone else? Section 131, in me Barrett jersey… maybe he’ll get all egocentric and end up kissing me on the cheek ; )

Barrett gets all excited when someone is wearing barrett stuff

he probably would kiss you on the cheek

you can not keep bumping your head against reality and saying it is not there.

Positive Mental Attitude

CY’s got it. He likes our chances of catching the rest of the division! Why the hell not.
Things are starting to look up anyways, with Peavy and Young back and The Savior up someday soon, anything is possible.

by The Kipper on Jun 6, 2008 2:03 PM PDT   0 recs

so

Who is getting recalled?? It’s probably just Stansberry. Can he hit for Khalil while he fields? It’s a team effort.

It will be Stansberry

and Khalil isn’t the only person hurting us at the plate.
