Iguchi angers gods, receives injury

Iguchi sidelined for a month with separated shoulder

See, we angered the baseball gods by trying to advance runners and score a run with them. The deities had an issue with that, and exacted justice on our runner with nary a consideration for health or harm.

Teaches us to score our runs on walks, HBPs, and catcher's interference, lesson learned.

Buddy says Gooch is out for at least a month. Is this the cue to bring up Antonelli and throw him into the fire? Or do we let Edgar play second, a spot in the lineup he's clearly earned?

Discuss!

Edgar gets the lion's share

of the starts, and most likely Stansberry becomes our reserve IF. This actually isn’t terrible, as Stansberry is probably a better back-up SS than E-Gon.

All Edgar all the time.

Stansberry is left handed

Maybe it will be a platoon? But of course with most pitchers being right handed that would mean Stans gets the lion’s share. And that doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.

I watched all 23 innings and all I got was this lousy signature.

I'd be surprised if it was a platoon

since Edgar is far and away the better hitter. 2B is also his natural position, so he should probably get 70%+ of the starts.

I bet they move Headley back to the infield

to play second. The only caveat is that he needs to spend three months in the minors to reacquaint himself with the infield.

Maybe I'm alone on this...

But I sure wish we still had Crabbe.

Perfect time to bring up Matt Antonelli

except he is hitting .172 in Portland. So much for the next years 2nd bagger?

Who will play Kratos and challenge the baseball gods to get back that which we have lost?
