Open Thread, 6/26: Padres vs The Uncontrollable Urge to Suck

Minnesota Twins at San Diego Padres, Jun 26, 2008 12:35 PM PDT

On a positive note, I really like Josh Banks. On a negative note, we suck.

I can't get a lineup quite yet, but does it really matter? I'm going to be honest with you. It doesn't.

Go Padres.

Oh here it is. Bask in its glory.

my dad just called me and said “i think i saw this line up in a spring training game”.

this is such a joke. how can we field a team like this with a straight face?

Scott Hairston led off yesterday

That is more of a joke.

Things that subtract from unrelenting suck today:
We are facing a righty (hey, it’s better than a lefty)
It’s day time (some of our guys hit when the sun is out)

Things that add to our sucking

Baker is the Twins best pitcher.

I guess

It’s so you can see the movement of the pitches. I was watching it with the Baltimore-Chicago game. Pretty trippy. There are still missing ESPN’s thing where they show where in the field the ball was hit.

Michael Barrett for Retirement in '08. Bring back Piazza!

by Wonko on Jun 26, 2008 12:12 PM PDT up reply actions

Even the College World Series

showed where in the field that ball was hit. Apparently GameDay is currently too infatuated with PitchFX to include that.

I guess they brought in Reyes but didn't double switch

So now Monroe is hitting for Reyes, but they still want the lefty-lefty matchup on AGo. Hence Breslow is warming up.

I like it. Go AGo!

Could we have caught any worse breaks in this game? Stellar defense and a chopper by Khalil to the only place on the field to kill Kouz at the plate. Ouch.
