Open Thread, 6/20: Padres vs Tigers

Detroit Tigers at San Diego Padres, Jun 20, 2008 7:05 PM PDT

Old Man Maddux goes for us today. That's all I have to say about that.

The Tigers offense vs Petco Park. I'm expecting lots of balls to the warning track.

GO PADRES!!!

That'd be an awesome rule

Make the opponent fly all the way to San Diego and then be like “nah.”

Did Quis say they saw Huber in the Padre locker room tonight? Cuz he’s not in the starting line-up for the Beavers tonight. So, Kouz is going on the DL because of his back? Is that right? So Huber will come up and be the 5th OF and Chase has third all to himself?

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who in the name of charity and goodwill shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

I suspect someone dropped some peanut M&Ms or something over there.

Didn't we in April and May?

I was under the impression this was the consolation bracket. Or maybe they were playing for the participation trophy at the end.

My favorite quote tonight was Mud saying, “It’s nice to see the wheels fall off of the other team for a change.” True that.

I like playing non-Yankee teams

Seriously though, interleague play needs to end already. I’d like to go back to hating my regular Dbacks, Dodgers, Rockies, Giants already.

Kouz
An MRI showed that Padres 3B Kevin Kouzmanoff has an irritated disc in his lower back. He missed his fourth straight game, with Headley starting in his place. Kouzmanoff is feeling better and might take some swings in the inside batting cage on Saturday, Black said.

Hope that works for everybody.
