I'm listening

but John Sterling is just so grating on the ear.

Because I listen on XM

and I refuse to listen to a broadcast that is about 3 minutes behind the real action.

Yep

All 162 of ‘em. And some ST games as well. You always get the home team broadcast, which is why I’m getting Sterling today.

Yep

DOJ already approved. But every satelite radio is equipped to receive both XM and Sirius signals. It will require a firmware update, but that’s all.

You’ll be able to select all XM, all Sirius, a hybrid of the two, or all XM or all Sirius with à la carte channels from the other service.

So I’m limited to Gameday, but having listened to the idiot Yankees broadcasters the last two days, I think I’m better off.

Do you have your XM

radio hooked up to a satelite? I have a Pioneer Inno (which can record XM broadcasts, which kicks all sorts of ass) hooked up to a home kit. It sits in a dock at work and I have my antenna aimed out the window. The Inno has an Antenna Aiming function that allows you to tweak your placement to get the best satelite and terestrial signal.

by Phantom on Jun 19, 2008 10:26 AM PDT up reply actions

On that note

I don’t know how I’d get through my work day without XM. I listen to Lex and Terry (national radio talk show out of Dallas) every morning and then usually listen to Ethel or Home Plate.

by Phantom on Jun 19, 2008 10:27 AM PDT up reply actions

I have the Delphi SKYfi3

I hook it up to a home kit at home, but I work in a factory, and my office has a window, but it overlooks the plant, not the outside. I’d have to drill through about 8” of concrete, and I don’t believe I have authorization to do that.

You can listen to XM online, but not games,

And they recently added homeplate to the online service.

The hell with that!

The home kit with the antenna should work fairly well at work. Do you live in or near a large metropolitan area? That’s where the bulk of their terrestrial repeaters are located.

Come on, guys

Luke Carlin is NOT an improvement over Michael Barrett. Look at his batting average, he’s just too young an inexperienced. And last night was inexcusable! He could have gotten either one of them hurt or not gotten the out!

That's scary

And he does have a home run, it came on the last homestand. I am not saying he’s great, but the experience in calling a game is better, not the hitting, neither one is hitting that well.

Bring in a righty to face two lefties and a switch hitter who hit a home run off you the night before? That seems like a bonehead move. Hope we can make that come true.

Here comes The Heat

“The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.”
