Smells Like Padres in Here - Thursday Edition

Sorry for the delay.  Massive storms rolled thru Dallas this morning and wiped out the power for bit.

Is there anything less enjoyable than losing to the Yankees?  I'm not even one of those guys that despises the Yankees just because they are the Yankees, but there's something about losing to them that just sucks.

Comparing Hoffman to Rivera.

Maple bats are dangerous

The overpaid and underpaid teams.  Couple of Padres mentioned, if you count Mark Prior.

It's Josh versus Joba as we go for the negative sweep this afternoon.  DAY GAME ALERT!!!   Game time is 10:05am PDT.

I'll join in on the IGD sporadically

but I’m not sure how much I’ll be able to tolerate John Sterling during a Joba Chamberlain start.

And you should be sorry WG. I had to debate the merits of our offense with Dex this morning istead of enjoying my morning SLPiH.

I was at the games the last two nights....

And believe me, as obnoxious as you think Michael Kay and the Yankees announcers are…there are thousands of certifiable goons who comprise their fan base (plenty of perfectly nice intelligent people too, obviously). The guy behind me kept screaming for Peavy to “take one in the head.” He didn’t even want A-Rod to get a hit….he just wanted a skull fracture.

My brother got a decent pic of Chase rounding the bases on his first MLB homerun. Giles and Gonzalez going back to back seemed to shut people up. But those were some fairly painful games to attend, and I’m not regretting skipping today’s. In all honesty, I don’t even want to watch. But I know I will.

What’s bad about losing to the Yankees is that it’s always on a national stage….but it’s made worse when you look like a AA squad while doing it (not so much last night, but the night before definitely).

I am elated and deflated at the same time

Elated that The Dodgers have so many on the all-overpaid team, deflated that Miguel Olivo produces and defends better than any of our current catchers.
