Smells Like Padres in Here - Wednesday Edition

That was a serious friggin' beat down.  I thought Stansberry was supposed to be a good glove guy.

I wonder what McAnulty ordered.  (And Jake hadn't been there in a couple of years?   Reason number 735 why I would never play professional baseball.)

Make your voice heard.  Sort of surprised hosting America's Cup isn't on the list.

The Dodgers are hurting.

Jake takes on Darrell Rasner.  Game time is 4:05 pm PDT.

Padres won't be sellers....

According to Buster Olney’s blog today, the Padres are telling other clubs they will not be sellers.

From mlbtraderumors.com:

Executives from the Rockies and Padres are telling other clubs that they will not be sellers. They’ve climbed back into the race with the recent D’Backs slump. Popular trade rumor names like Brian Fuentes, Greg Maddux, and Randy Wolf may be off the market.

Remember that scene in "Hoosiers"

When the Milan basketball team walks into the huge arena and is just in awe, and Gene Hackman has them measure the court so they realize that it’s just a basketball court, and everybody’s fine, and the y go on to win the championship? Somebody should do that with the Padres, and especially Stansberry.

BTW, what’s the status on Kouz?

no idea

but headley is conveniently listed as a 3B in espn fantasy leagues, so i can start headley in his place. funny how that works…

and yes i’ve had jesus headley on my team for a while. my “as many padres as possible” strategy has me in second to last place, oddly enough.

That sucked

But at least I get to see Peavy tonight. The people I sat in front of flew out from San Diego just to see last night’s game. Yikes.

Should be able to post pics tonight or tomorrow.
