Josh Banks makes his first start for the Padres.  I guess a six-hit, complete game is pretty good. Padres win, 5-1.

After falling down and fracturing the tip of his left thumb, Estes has been placed on the DL. Cha Seung Baek could take his spot in the rotation and face the Cubs at Petco tomorrow night.

Here comes the Guevara.

They're trying to hard and the ball park is too damn big. The Padres? No. The Giants.

The Savior was 2 for 4 with a run scored in a 5-0 win for the Beavers last night. Clay threw 3 hitless innings, walked two and struck-out two. His ERA is now 1.80.

We've used a draft pick on another starting pitcher.

Padres go for the sweep today. (Can't believe I'm writing that for the first time on June1st.) The Wolf vs. Lincecum. First pitch is at 1:05pm.

A win for the Padres today means we take sole possesion of third place in the NL West.

Mr. McCoy could pitch

Breaking news....

The AP is reporting that Walter McCoy is traveling to Brimingham, Alabama today to meet with Dr. James Andrews on Monday morning. Kevin Towers expressed disappointment and said there’s a “95% chance” the 84-year old pitcher will need to undergo Tommy John surgery.

Welcome to the Padres, Mr. McCoy.

gotta win today

third place is a good goal. especially before baseball’s best record comes to town (Cubs). do we have a chance of taking three games from the Mets next weekend?

Including today’s game there are 39 games until the all star break. We need to go 25-14 to get back to .500 and start a new season after the break. it can be done.

Prior

While it seems like the Wolf gamble is paying off, Prior is done for the season. How long before McCoy recovers from his surgery?
