Adrian Gonzalez knows a lot about numbers (23≠24)
The following is from an mlb.com article on Adrian Gonzalez. I've got something strange and superstitious for jersey numbers, so I got all hot and bothered when I saw this. A lot of the questions are in Spanish (with no translation provided) which greatly irritates me. Rawr. This chat can be found here.
daver24: Q: Why did you pick #23 for your jersey number? Is there any meaning behind the number for you?
Gonzalez: One thing that I feel everybody should understand is that as a player, you don't choose your number. I was given #23 by the Padres when I made the team, and that's the number I've worn since. With Texas I was #24, so it's not the same number. My favorite number is #14 but it's not important enough for me to try and change the number on the back of my shirt.

It’s a bunch of Adrian run of the mill answers:
nicolesd: Adrian, quien era tu favorito jugador cuando eras nino? = Who was your favorite player when you were a child? A: My favorite player was Tony Gwynn. Being from San Diego and TJ, I have many memories of going to Qualcomm and Tony Gwynn was always the hero or best hitter.
sonny77: When you are not playing baseball, what do you do? A: When I am not playing baseball i like to spend time with my wife and family. We like to go have dinner, sometimes to the movies, or bowling. Other than that (but more than that?), during the season we are at home because there is not a lot of time to to relax at home.
More coming…
