Around SBN: Are The Orioles Bad Or Unlucky With Their Young Pitching?

Smells Like Padres in Here - Tuesday Edition

As of this morning, we are 16-30.  The worst record in team history is 52-110, which the team posted in 1969, its first year in existence.  That means we have to win 37 more games to make sure this isn't the worst year in the organization's history.  Never in my life has 37 seemed like so large of a number.  (These are worth reading, not to relive last night, but to see Towers expound on what he touched on during yesterday's radio interview.)

As discussed in the OT last night, Jake is on the DL and Thatch has been recalled.

Sullivan on Peavy.

When we fire Black, I think we should interview this guy.

Maddux goes against Joel Pineiro tonight.  I always feel a dash of hope when Maddux starts.  Stupid hope.  Game time is 7:05pm PDT.

The only good news

is that Jake’s elbow just requires time to heal. As GY pointed out this morning at DS, with the way things are going, Jake should take as much time as he needs.

Towers seems legit pissed. I wonder what’s going to happen. I gotta think Giles is out of here. His base-running mistakes have got to be absolutely infuriating management.

I'm sure the mistakes on the basepaths are pissing them off....

...but at least he’s hitting the ball which allows him to actually get on base. I’d rather see him screw up on the basepaths than casually walk back to the dugout after yet another strikeout.

I think it probably

compounds their anger that he is hitting. He hits to bring in runs but effectively kills rallies at the same time.

But yeah, I’m sure they love that he’s hitting. It should also help them trade him.

Recall Thatch

I think this is just a move to stall for time until JHamp finishes up his rehad assignment, sounds like he is about ready to go, he just need a few starts in AAA since he really just finished his spring training.

Me fail English? That's unpossible!
