SLPiH - Sunday Interleague Edition
2-2 tie...BOOM! 4-2 loss.
The Wolf had another great outing wasted by a poor offensive showing and a shaky bullpen. Using a designated hitter...our 6-9 batters were a combined 0 for 13 with 5 strikeouts.
The team seems to be much more optimistic than we are.
Giles hitting in the 3-spot has worked out well for us. We're also 4-2 when Gerut is in the leadoff spot.
The Padres have struckout 42 times over the last 4 games.
Chase Headley sits in Portland while we watch guys like Justin Huber stumble around in left field and strikeout over and over. But it has nothing to do with his future earning potential. Nothing at all. None. Nope.
Estes vs. King Felix. First pitch is at 1:10pm.

I missed the game last night
But, hey, Bud – GREAT lineup once again you ran out there yesterday.

2007 and 2008 are such opposites.
Last year we dreaded Sunday’s for fear of seeing that garbage “split-squad” line-up. Today I’m excited to see it. Hopefully Gerut, E-Gon and the young Jedi will get a start.

No King Today.
I declare this man’s monarchy illegitimate and thus is not recognized by the nation of Axionia or its peoples.

I was there last year
On this day last year Germano and the Pads beat King Felix 2-1 in a Sunday afternoon rubbermatch that was well attended by gaslampball regulars. This year I stayed home to run the bridge.
One note about last years’ game, Felix threw at a few players, it was a chippy game with our rivals to the North (something like 1064 miles)

Click away! Looks like The Sauce will make his start. Hope this isn’t anything worse than tendonitis…

Yeah I called it
He’s such a gamer, much to the detriment of himself and the team.

Seriously.
If it affected his start vs. Webb, I don’t know what to think.

"But it has nothing to do with his future earning potential"
Why would it? The date he loses eligibility for super two status (the earning potential you seemingly refer to) that would give him arbitration a year earlier passed April 29th. That means the team has limited financial incentive to wait calling him up, unless they plan on waiting until April 29th, 2009.

Like Krasovic in his article....
I was referring to him not making the club out of Spring Training.

But if Headley's not making the team...
out of spring training was because of arbitration eligibility issues, why hasn’t he been called up now when it doesn’t matter?
