Smells Like Padres in Here - Tuesday Edition
What a crappy night. The Bachelor makes the worst choice ever, the new Eliminator on American Gladiators is a bit of a let-down and the Padres lose to the Cubs.
Edmonds could be playing for the Cubs before the end of the series. Awwwwkwaaard.
Will Venable. Perhaps he's not our centerfielder of the future.
Barrett is happy to be back visiting Chicago.
Hector G. thinks Estes has trade value. Yeah, that's right. It's time for Corey Brock's mailbag!
Estes gets his first start in over two years tonight versus Jason Marquis. I'm sure it'll go fine. Game time is 5:05pm PDT.

Pie and Edmonds
That would mean a demotion to the minors for touted prospect Felix Pie, who entered Monday with a .222 average and strikeouts in one-third of his plate appearances.Ummmm isn’t Edmonds even WORSE than that???
Me fail English? That's unpossible!

Ok Fine
Jim only strikes out 26.67% of the time…But I guess being in the same division as the Cardinals will REALLY motivate him….

If we're gonna lose
I’d much rather it be like that. At least then I don’t get my hopes up.
But hey, we won every inning but the 5th and 6th last night. That counts for something, right?
And what’s up with the new Eliminator? How did they change it?
by Phantom on May 13, 2008 7:31 AM PDT 0 recs
Too many changes
No wall at the beginning, they start out swimming instead, that whirly thing they had to hug and spin around on is gone and replaced by a lame tightrope thing – seems easier to me. The only thing I liked was that they finish in the water and they all seem so exhausted that there may be the potential for a drowning.

Interesting
I loved it when people couldn’t get over the wall. Also, how the hell did so many people have problems jumping into the pool in season one? I thought someone was going to eventually decapitate themsevles on the metal rig for the flames.
Do they still have to do the handbike? In my mind, the point of the handbike is wasted since there is no penalty for dropping and walking through it. At least in the original AmGlad, it was all based on time and there were penalties if you fell off the obstacles.

Still have the handbike
I thought exactly the same thing and I thought they’d fixed it because now there’s a bigger drop and you fall into a giant pool of plastic balls, which at first seemed like it would be difficult to get out of…but it’s not. I think they should put snakes or something in there.

Or
You could get a lecture from Curt Schilling and Jayson Werth’s dad if you fall off.

The new American Gladiators is so bad
that I watched the Padres last night.

It really is bad/awesome.
Just like the Padres!

It's tremendous
As someone who grew up in the midst of the AmGlad’s first round of success, I seriously fell in love with the show. I used to watch the reruns back on TNN before it became Spike.
I saw the new contestants. The woman looks way different now. The guy loos about the same, but that Phoenix chick is pretty hot.
And I

Oh, I still watch the old ones on ESPN Classic
They’re brilliant. But way too many commercials in the new one. I like Crush (duh) and Wolf, and that’s about it.

Damn
My comment got blasted.
What I was saying is that my wife and I love Crush and that we agree that the Pyramid battles between her and Monica (JET!) last year were the best thing on television.

I still think Randy Wolf would be a better pitcher if he looked like "Wolf"
Can you imagine trying to hit a sinking fastball from a guy with a three foot mane of hair, a ripped leather vest, chains of all sorts, and a crazy howl?

God that would be awesome.
It would be like Jose Valverde with less douche.

When will this team
start playing more like they did on Sunday, and less like they did last night?
I’m excited for that to happen.
by Dalton on May 13, 2008 7:56 AM PDT 0 recs
That's the team I want to see, too.
Does anyone know where we can find them?
Stupid TSA, losing our damn baseball team again…

Yes
Jim Morrison visited me in a dream last night. Apparently they are going to go on a June tear, and KT will make a MAJOR MOVE at the AS break to put us in contention.
He also said my girlfriend is bisexual, but just doesn’t know it….yet.
When I woke up, one of the 90 “Light My Fire” keyboard solos was playing on my alarm radio….

Estes is pitching. We can still take this series.
Just get the Delorean to 88 mph and set it for 1997.

Padres need to get to the Enchantment Under the Sea Dance!
To stop their 4 years of Petco progress from being erased.
So….Kevin Towers is Doc? And Peavy is Marty? Dalton, get on the photoshop.

I just wanted to say that.
