Open Thread: 5/12, Padres vs. Cubs

San Diego Padres at Chicago Cubs, May 12, 2008 5:05 PM PDT

Padres have a two game winning streak and have won their first series since the beginning of April.

Remember when Garvey hit that home run in 1984 ?  That was great.

Go Padres!

I'll say it again

This is by far our best lineup. Giles is a much better 3 hitter. A little speed at the top. Pmac/Scott Harrison (lol) are interchangable I guess for now.

Me fail English? That's unpossible!

Um

Why no Carlin? Haven’t we determined that Luke Carlin + Starting = Padres win?

I mean, my theory is 100% accurate right now. How can you argue with that?

This new lineup looks somewhat actually useful. I blame Bud Black for all of our losses from now on, he is the worst bullpen manager ever. He should have pulled Wolf like….2 hours before he did. How many batters need to reach base before you pull a guy??

Lineup

I like it, too. Giles, a key on-base guy, right before A-Go? Sounds like someone’s been studying baseball, eh, Bud? /wink, nudge

I ain’t a pitching coach or a trainer so I don’t know exactly when Henn was ready. He warmed for five minutes, it was 41F there, and he probably hadn’t pitched since he was released, which I’m reading was April 30. That’s all I’m saying.
