Smells Like Padres in Here - Monday Edition

Sort of looked like a different team out there.  In a good way.

Some stuff on the catchers here - 56 for 56 until Carlin threw out Herrera yesterday???  That is one of the best/worst statistics I've ever seen.  Also - as mentioned at the end of yesterday's OT, Edgar Gonzalez is being called up and they are trying to figure out what to do with Crabbe.

Edmonds to...the Cubs?

Simers goes after Andruw Jones in a big, fat way.  This is absolutely hilarious.

Wolf goes tonight in the first of a four game series.  The bad part is Zambrano got bumped yesterday because he didn't have long underwear or something and will start tonight.  Game time is 5:10pm PDT.

Khalil Greene
SS Khalil Greene was hitting .217 with just one RBI in his first 17 games at Petco Park this season when he hit a two-run homer in the sixth off Rockies starter Greg Reynolds. His three RBI at home now equals the pitching staff’s total.

Me fail English? That's unpossible!

Edmonds to the Cubs on MLBTR
i would it if they signed him. Stick that bat in the middle and the lineup could become even more dangerous-bleedcubbieblue

Simers...

If you only read one article today…read TJ’s about Andruw Jones. As big of a disaster as the Jim Edmonds signing was for us…the signing of Andruw Jones makes it look like nothing.

Yeah, that's just ugly.

As much as I hate Andruw Jones, going after him that way is shameful.

No, really.

Maybe if the writer wasn’t trying to make himself part of the story I wouldn’t have a problem with it. I don’t know… there must be something wrong with me. Chaos in Dodger-land is always a good thing.

Jones deserves everything he gets

Showing up fat and out of shape and then claiming to not care is reprehensible after signing that absurd contract. He has always been a flat-out piece of crap.

KT is on with Scott & BR right now.

Even if Edmonds signs somewhere…that team would only pick-up the major league minimum of his contract. So, we only save about $400k.

Did you hear the Carlin interview?

Did anyone? They are sort of recapping with Ted and I really wanna hear it.

It was awesome.

It should be posted on the site soon.

His dad works for BlackWater.

He’s a mercenary.

Oh crap

Thought he was actually military. Now I’m conflicted.

I haven't even

listened yet, and I already feel that way. Kid was awesome this weekend. I had seats by our bullpen yesterday and it was really interesting watching him warm up out there. He definitely takes his job seriously and practices coming out of the squat for throws to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd multiple times. I like this kid a lot.

Question

Mark Prior was examined by Padres team doctors yesterday…why haven’t we heard anything? I’m going to assume it wasn’t good news. Has anybody seen or heard any news on how it went?

by Drama on May 12, 2008 11:16 AM PDT reply actions   0 recs

He was driven to the Coronado bridge...

...and pushed off.

“Whoops! Mark who?”

I'm just assuming he's not starting a game this year.

And maybe I’ll be pleasantly surprised if his comeback helps us close the division gap to 5 or 6 games.

took me awhile to figure what "Tubbo" was

I thought it was a club or something.

"I daydream just like everybody else," he says. "I just do it with my body facing the field, so everybody thinks I'm paying attention."
