Smells Like Padres in Here - Thursday Edition

Maddux did everything he was supposed to do, Bell looked like the Bell we knew from last year...and then it all went to hell. I can't say I'm really looking forward to what I'm sure will be the main topic of discussion today. (Thanks to Ducksnorts for letting us play over there last night.)

I think the last sentence of this round-up tells us that we shouldn't plan on seeing Prior this year.

I'm going to say something crazy for me

but Khalil needs to get his shit together. I thought the new batting stance was going to allow him to put more balls in play. However, when you’re putting balls in play like Sean Burroughs, I can’ really endorse that.

At least he’s still playing great defense (for the most part), but he has got to start hitting for power. He was the Padres 2007 MVP. Right now it looks like Adam Everett could out-hit him.

I don’t care if he gets pull happy and starts K’ing at a greater rate. We need somebody that can put the ball over the fence, since the rest of our offense has decided to suck ass as well. Khalil is a better hitter than this. It’s time for him to start flexing that muscle.
