Smells Like Padres in Here - Friday Edition

Well, that was just sucktastic.  I went to a function at my daughter's preschool this morning.  A friend said "Why are your eyes all swollen?  Were you up late?  Were you crying?"  I said "Yes."

CY and The Professor are switching slots.

Beer is not only more expensive this season, it's lower on alcohol content!

Attendance is down.

Meaningless power rankings, notably only because they have AZ as best team in baseball.  Hard to argue that right now.

(I thought it was an off-day today.)  Maddux takes on Haren tonight in Arizona.  Game time is a ridiculous 6:40pm PDT.  I'm going back to bed.

Lower attendance

They raised the prices on everything at the ballpark, and now gas is $4/gal. To acknowledge the argument that fans may be dissatisfied, they signed Jim Edmonds.

Personally I think many of the people who go to the ballpark don’t even know who Edmonds is.

The right man in the wrong place can make all the difference in the world.

I think

That was the most depressing SLPiH I’ve ever read.

the Padres could diffuse the aftershock of last night

by calling up Headley. all of a sudden everyone would go from talking about how we can’t score to how excited they are to see the kid get a chance.

Let's not handicap the offense any more than it already is

Let the kid earn his way up. Baseball is a meritocracy.

I watched all 23 innings and all I got was this lousy signature.

Way late

But thanks, WG, for linking my Daily Aztec article on Wednesday. Good to know the paper is read for more than just the back page sudoku.

Hey

I also enjoyed the crosswords and humor sections during my class periods.

VIII. Chargers at Steelers -- Sunday, Nov. 16
Pittsburgh's offensive line could struggle with San Diego's pass rush. But then they would also struggle with San Diego State's pass rush.
