Smells Like Padres in Here - Monday Edition

The old man gets it done, like he always does.

Q&A with Callix Crabbe.  (Was this already posted?  It felt familiar, but I couldn't find it on GLB.  If it's already up, I apologize.)

Germano will get his regular start.  Good, because he's been pretty good so far.

The long relievers are a little bored.

Off day today before the Rockies arrive in San Diego so Matt Holliday can finally touch the plate.

How Did They Do That?

Callix is my favorite Padre.

Seriously, he's up there in the pantheon along with Joey and the Krukker. He's got that confidence that would be impossible to confuse with cockiness and he just wants to get out on the field- anywhere on the field- and do what he knows he can do to help win ballgames. The next jersey I buy will be his... and you know it's gonna be the camo one. I can't wait to set some idiot Reds fan around here straight when they try to tell me that their meager team did it first. Maybe I'll get freelunch's number from 'tec4 and have her come help me punch them all in their slack-jawed faces so their jerseys are red again like they're supposed to be. And then it'll be off to the South Side of Chicago to scoff at their pathetic excuse for pizza while bashing their faces in and making their jerseys look a little more like they did back in Dick Allen's heyday. I'm a lover, not a fighter but somebody has got to stand up for the originators' honor. But anyway, I digress... my point is: Callix = good, putting out blasphemous jerseys to placate your chaw-spitting, huge-truck-having, kill-for-fun, more-than-likely-closeted-racist redneck sack of crap pitcher or just to make more money off of your inbred Kentuckian fans = bad.

Was thinking the same thing

After I read the article, I was like "Think he's my new favorite Padre."

At first I thought you meant

all of the same thing. Then I got a little worried for you.

Callix

"On Opening Day, when we line up on the field, I was standing next to Greg Maddux. Me, next to a Hall of Famer, on Opening Day ... that was sick."

Love it.

Anyone up for revisiting an old argument?

Torii Hunter questions what could be the most ironic symbolic gesture of all time.

It wasn't already posted...

But there's a fanshot I posted a while back which has this mp3 interview of him on XX 1090 - and it just reiterates how awesome he is.

Could you make the GLB logo appear in the address bar? Do I need to do something? Either way, it's how I differentiate my bookmarks.

Much appreciated.

I took it down,

put it up elsewhere, and linked to it as a fanshot just to make things easier on Dex & Mr. Box.

sorry! i didn't mean you had to take it down

i'm very blunt. i would've told you it had to go if it did. or i would've just disappeared it myself.

Oh, I know.

It just seemed like that this way would work to definately avert any snafus and there's not really any downside. It's just one extra click; if people have a problem with excessive clicking, then they have no reason to read it anyway..
