Runners on Second and Third

So today in the OT I was once again complaining  about our lack of offense, especially when we have runners on second and third, which seems to be alot this season so far. Dex tried to goad me into "proving" that we suck in that situation and that other teams are better. I'm not as good as Dex the magnificent at these kinds of complicated baseball analysis but I'll give it a go.

So first of all, baseballreference.com is like the coolest website ever. I don't know how to make those cool boxes like Dex but....

Small sample sizes aside, we have 115 Plate apperances (PA) this season with RISP. In those situations we are batting a very good .278 AVG(9th in MLB) with a .351 SLG and .660 OPS. Not so good (.224 .286 .582) with RISP and 2 outs, but still respectable and good for 14th overall in MLB. So you would think that we do well with runners on second and third right? Wrong. In that situation, which granted is only 9 PAs but work with me here, we are hitting exactly .000 AVG .000 SLG and .111 OPS. Now this is with zero, one, or two outs in all situations i'm talking about. This is strange because we are struggling in only two other situations (.200 AVG .200 SLG .290 OPS with runners on first and third and .208 AVG .333 SLG .630 OPS with a runner on second). Those numbers are still way higher than .000 obviously and We are  hitting .250 or higher in every other catagory including .714(!) with a runner on third. Maybe Dex can do a better job with more in depth analysis.

So what does this mean? Probably nothing and I'm just bored. Just sayin....
