Doug Davis is in the middle of a fight with cancer and is getting his thyroid removed today. AZ SnakePit has a thread up where you can send along your best wishes.

can recover quickly. He seems like he's found his niche with the Diamondbacks and it would be incredibly unfortunate for something like this to derail his career.
