Win a copy of MLB 08 The Show!

For all of you doing detective work out there, you may have deduced that we've been given a few copies of MLB 08 The Show. Now we're in a position to give them away, but even though we've posted glowing reviews from Mister Raroo and Metal Steve, you people are more concerned with making up season slogans that insult your favorite baseball team.

So our little contest is a little bit anti-climactic, but if you want a shot at winning a copy, then check after the jump for what you need to do.

Star-divide

OK. Here's what you have to be able to do:

  1. Prove that you have a PS3 because those are the only copies we have and we'd like to at least be able to pretend that you're going to be playing the game. Proof can be in the form of a photo of your controller or just crossing your heart and hoping to die.
  2. Be able to attend the game tonight or a game that jbox will be at in the coming week or so. We'd rather not have to spend money on postage.
  3. Comment here that you want a copy. First come first served.

We have more than 1 copy, but less than 5. Good luck.

what if i pay the postage?

i'm sick and tired of waiting for 2ksports to release a patch to fix the dreaded "Padres Glitch".

the padres glitch, by the way, makes it so that if you want to bring a minor leaguer up to the majors you have to cut a major leaguer. only happens with the padres, and makes it difficult when prior is ready to become your 5th starter. damn you 2ksports!

wow

Even in the videogame world, we get no love.

yup

the show has the commercial of Trevor getting rocked, and 2k makes us the one team that you can't really play in franchise. word in the nerd world is that their old developers (Kush) are located in san diego and filled with padres fans, so they did it to get back at them. i'm not buying it.

ok let's call this winner 1

Though we may need to work out the postage thing and if somebody is able to meet jbox face to face, we reserve the right to give it to them.

I've got a PS3

And I'll be using the cross my heart and hope to die method! If you want a pic, I guess i can search my camera usb cables. Or I can beat you in the game online!

we'll call this winner 2

Though honestly, the mailing thing is something that me and jbox are not good at.

What games are you going to

And I guess I can post a picture of me playing Rockband in my gaslampball shirt.

Friday's game agains the hated Dodgers

the little padre made us cut down on the number of games, but I offer to buy jbox a beer before another game this week.

I also owe you a book........

I'll get it to Sammy G at some point

I might be going to the game on Friday, I don't know yet. I already promised him one, so he's a winner.

If there's a 4th, I'll pay for postage too...

Opening day is not a national holiday in texas, and while normally I carry pictures of my PS3 with me, I must have left it at home today.

And since I'm in texas, I can't attend any games(at least not this week), but I will be going to wrigley in may for the entire series... and will be back some in June -- ostensibly for a friends wedding, but really for the padres.

Oh wow!!

Alex has a PS3 at his dad's and he would love this so much. Plus, we will be there tonight so no postage required ;-)

woah!

See this fits all 3 criteria perfectly. You'll be at the game... You've sworn on your child that you have a PS3... I'll let jbox know.

if there are games still available and you'd be at this thursday's afternoon game, I'd like to have a copy. thanks.
