Peavy describes his two seam and four seam fastballs in a really confusing way

Jake Peavy, AKA, Jason Peavy did an interview with a Christian group and he tries to explain the difference between a four seam fastball and a two seam fastball. Sadly, Jason may not have a future as a pitching coach. I knew the difference before his explanation and now I'm not sure. He may not be sure either.

Sharing the Victory Interview with Jason Peavy:

San Diego Padre Jake Peavy is who he is, like it or not

Are you trying
to make me hate him? Because it's working. I don't have a problem with Christians per se but hypocrites really grind my gears... and he's one.

Jason Peavy
is the problem. Jake is a class act.

Jason
So...Jason Peavy is the guy in the pics with the Jager bottle, Roy Oswalt and the skanks?

Aha. Gotcha.
I don't think I like either one.

I like
when Peavy looks away from the interviewer and towards the camera. Like "OK, I've confused her, hey cameraman do you understand where I'm coming from with this explanation?"

"Obviously, two seams
are gonna be... (pause, glance)" He uses the word "obviously" a lot which I find to be condescending. What a jerk.

Uh-oh. Gotta turn the TTG tide here....
...I heard that in the part of the interview that was edited out Jake talked about how Social Distortion never gets the credit they deserve for being one of, the top bands in rock n' roll history. He also used the words "genius" and "pioneer" when describing Mike Ness.

Just thought you should know.

Well
We know he won't ever be "TheSecondPeavy."

WG
That's because Jason is.

by Drama on Mar 20, 2008 11:06 AM PDT up reply actions

Right
I obviously meant "TheThirdPeavy."  I obviously thought it was pretty obvious.

You're obviously right again, WG.
I obviously mis-read the point you were obviously making.

Sometimes I mis-remember your brilliance.

That's a situation
in which he should have used the word "obviously" quite a bit. I guess he was just warming up in the part we saw. I'll let it slide this time but I have to admit that hating him feels good. It feels right. Like he's a really good Kevin Brown or something.

Who among us
hasn't pounded Jager straight out of the bottle while hanging out with women of questionable morality?  I call that "Wednesday."

Besides, as jbox notes above, Jake is a stand-up guy.  As you can see in that clip, he just loves to talk baseball with people.  Here's a great picture of him explaining to a young fan the art of getting to third base:

I'll call a truce with him
if he's willing to give me his throwaways or even deuces at least.
