Spring Training: Part 5, "Champagne Wishes and Cavnar Dreams"

There was a lot of turbulence on the flight into San Diego. People were getting really nervous because the plane felt like it might drop from the sky on several occasions. I was in the middle seat and I looked to the other side of the aisle and I saw what looked like an angel. Were we so close to death that I was getting a sneak peek into a Heavenly afterlife?

No that angelic figure was the lovely and talented Jenny Cavnar of Channel 4 Padres fame.

We spoke, "Remember that time you did an interview with a dumb Padres website? That was me." From there we talked about her time in Arizona, the China games and the Padres. She was a delight.

I've been...around Cavnar...

a couple of times, and from what I gather she's as nice as any local TV personality you could find. She is putting on some weight though, but I don't mind... :)

Well for one, I'm only 18

so I felt kinda uncomfortable just saying anything to her at all (cause I'm a loser like that). And also, the times I met her were in a "working environment" where she was...focused on the game, and I didn't want to "disrupt" that focus.

In other words, I just wussed out. I've done it a couple times around famous people like Ted Leitner, Bud Black, and Brian Giles, and every time I just assume they don't want to hear from me. If I was a little older I might have more confidence, but I'm not. I'm just intimidated.
