Who's your Padre?

Dex asked me today "Who's your favorite current Padre player?"

I gave it a little bit of thought and said "I guess Luis Rodriguez".  I don't even know much about Luis Rodriguez, so that's a positive right there.

Looking over the roster now, I don't get much of a reaction from any of these player's names, I'm so numb.  I think I'm still a Padres fan, I like the idea that San Diego has it's own baseball team in theory.

Let's just vote.

I voted for Heat although I think it's a tossup between him and Adrian.

I wonder if Briles gets any votes?

Chris Young

Well spoken and tough. It takes more than Albert Pujols to keep the big guy down.

I'm not in denial, I'm just selective about the reality I choose to accept.

As long as Jake is still a Friar

And I still own his jersey. He’s my Padre.

I'm already bracing

for him not being a Padre. He can no longer be my favorite. It’s a defense mechanism.

Well...

Until somebody suggested that playing for the Dodgers or Cubs would be “ok” and somebody else was revealed to do be doing the wrong kind of hitting off the field, it would have been a tough call.

Go Ago!

Plus, he’s half of the Fightin’ Gonzali.

It's so sad I couldn't pick one.

Mark Loretta was my last clear-cut favorite Padre.

Used to be Giles.

But wow, the rest of that list is kinda boring.

I went with Adrian by process of elimination. Chris Young almost made the cut.

I had to go with Jake.

But I reserve my right to change my mind, if he goes to Boston. That’s a deal breaker.
