Around SBN: Knicks 90, Raptors 87: "Shump and Lin wouldn't let us lose."

San Diego GM Kevin Towers spoke to a small group of writers on his way out of the St. Regis.

He said that the Jake Peavy trade talks have progressed to a point where the pitcher has been told he’s going to be traded, it’s just a matter of when a deal is struck.

"That train has left the station," Tower said.

Towers also revealed that he is dealing with three teams, all in the National League. He mentioned the possibility of Peavy moving as part of a multi-team trade.

The Padres are known to be dealing with the Braves and Cubs. The third team could be the Cardinals or Astros. The Yankees are not in the mix.

"It’s been narrowed down for quite a while and there have been no additions," Towers said.

Jake, you're my favorite pitcher in baseball.

You’ll be missed horribly by your fans.

A plague upon this organization, for all I care – “we the people” are going to miss you fiercely :-(

Could not agree more....

I guess I have been scarce around these parts since about may or june…..But I never thought that things would come to THIS….You are going to trade away the best compeitior of the team… for “prospects” or whatever and the team is supposed to be better somehow? So much was promised to us when we moved into Petco….I don’t think anyone saw PV getting traded as one of them….I will no doubt shed a tear shudders when he gets traded….it will be hard to watch the team for awhile….AND HE BETTER NOT GO TO THE FUCKING DODGERS!

Just get me something good

and I do believe that the Yankees and the Angels are both still in the mix, but they haven’t put together an offer together

I dont want to second guess KT's poker skills...

lets face it the guy could prob get a bluff past Doyle Brunson but why is taking away the Peavy could stay card?

We know it's going to happen

but it will still rock me when it finally goes down. Dude is just so electric. The best starting pitcher ever to wear a Padres uniform. We better effin’ ass rape someone on this deal.

Did you forget about Greg Maddux?

Ron Rivera. Change we can believe in. YES WE CAN!

Pretty sure he is referring to how good they were when they wore the uniform.

What train? What station?

I don’t think that means what he thinks it means. It’s not entirely different than “that window has passed.”

Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you?

I wish both sides would just shut up and stop talking to the media.

If Jake’s gonna get traded, just tell us when it happens. The FO, Jake, and Barry Axelrod are all getting to be really annoying. And WTF? They’re gonna trade Jake for like 2 alright players???
