Greg Maddux leaning towards retirement
Seriously. WTF. I was almost hanging my hat on the idea that at least maybe Maddux would want to come back and play another season in San Diego. Oh well. It looks like Maddux might want to just retire:
The New York Post quoted Maddux's agent, Scott Boras, as saying that the four-time Cy Young award winner is almost certain to quit the game. "He hasn't made a final decision, but for now it is doubtful he will play (any longer)," Boras was quoted as saying at the general managers' meetings in Dana Point, Calif. "As it stands now, he is not going to play."
When it rains it pours.

I'd rather have this
than have him go back to the Dodgers. I didn’t think the team would be up for paying another $10m for just one year.
Thanks for the career and choosing to try and end it here, Greg. Sorry again about 350.
Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you?

This sucks.
I wish we would have worked harder to get him to take the Bench Coach position instead of Ted Simmons.

It'd be like the Mirabelli incident all over again.
