Around SBN: Steve McNair Found Shot to Death

"If we don't move Jake, there's probably not a lot we could do," Towers said. "Our payroll will be close to $50 million, and we need it at $40 million. The focus is on Jake. We'll have to try to piece it together from there."

I think so

Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you?

It's not a "restructuring"

or a move to youth…

It is an old fashioned salary dump. Otherwise, Moores has to sell the team.

Don't discount the possibility

of selling the team

Still this is like shooting yourself in the foot endless amounts of times

The sharks in pinstripes are moving in...

The current “deadness” of John Moores’ Get-Peavy-The-Hell-Out-Of-Here Project has my fellow Yankee fans here in New Jersey salivating and laughing at me. The more time this project takes, and the more the Cubs and the Braves say Not Interested, the more likely, all of the idiots around me in the Northeast with Yankees Hats, believe they’ll be stealing Peavy from the Padres in either early-December or late July, and in return give up two of their biggest problems of 2008, Phil Hughes and Ian Kennedy. I sure hope they’re wrong, but can’t help but fear that Mr. Towers (and all of us Padres fans once again) are going to be fleeced by Brian Cashman and the Evil Empire. Is it karma for Towers fleecing the likes of the Rangers and others?

Cashman and Towers hadn't even spoken

when the Yankees’ media or fans thought themselves to be in the discussions. Let them dream.

Towers is going to get somebody to overpay, if the deal is there.

Wow so KT is not telling every other team in the league

That keeping Peavy is not an option….Why the hell is he taking that chip away? how will this help him in anyway in trade talks?
