Around SBN: Steve McNair Found Shot to Death

And just like clockwork, there are signs that the Jake Peavy-Atlanta talks figure to be back on. There is pressure on both sides to complete the talks that basically got to the 1½-yard line, and to finish them ASAP. For the Padres, it's obvious that there is a push to lower the payroll dramatically, and they need to move Peavy's contract and get decent return, even if it's 80 to 90 cents on the dollar.

Olney must be reading the posts on here

I have said that Peavy will still be traded and so have others on other blogs and message boards.

Olney is just a little late or following our lead.

Do you know what we get to do today? We get to talk baseball!

Pretty sure

that since Buster is a former UT staffer, his sources are slightly better than ours.

Pretty sure

Media-types only pretend they have sources, and make up 99% of the rumours they write about.

My sources tell me

That the above comment is 100% right.

"Whoa... You can't say stuff like that!"
"I get it Chief. I'll play ball. You just gotta blow the whistle and call the fouls. Alright?"

Just the fact that he has sources

makes them better than our complete lack of sources.

1 and 1/2 yard line....

olney got to the 1 and 1/2 yardline with that metaphor, but couldn’t put it in the endzone.

3,000 miles closer to the Nathan's hot dog eating contest.

Now there’s an agent you can trust, Sir Hans Von Weinerschnitzel…

With a name like Smuckers, it has to be good!

How these talks restarted

KT: So you guys want Peavy yet?
FW: Yeah well there’s our offer? A tolerable SS, an A level CF, and two pitchers that are injured
KT: I want more
FW: We don’t want to give you more
KT: **** off
