John Moores to give $2.1 million to Scripps Research Institute
Very generous gift to Scripps from Mr. Moores.
The gift, from John Moores, will be used to help fund a $50 million initiative to recruit new researchers and to sustain and expand the work of scientists at The Scripps Research Institute.
Sandy Alderson, commenting on the donation said that the $2.1 million is better spent on researchers and scientists and smart dudes, not unlike himself, as opposed to the Padres and their deadbeat fans who keep asking stupid questions over and over again. F'ing dumbasses.

All proceeds go to paying the salary of some crappy back-up bench player.

Genius
"The Scripps Research Institute is one of the world’s largest nonprofit biomedical research organizations. "
Now I get it. Moores is going to create new players for the Padres in a lab (I mean “farm system”). This is genius. It’s like the clone wars, but with baseball players.
Moores and Alderaan (I mean Alderson) are truly visionaries.
Biomedical my ass. Biogenetic engineering is more like it.

Are we really complaining about donations made to a nonprofit now?

I think he's being facetious
Either that or he’s a giant a-hole….
I’ll stick with idea that he’s being facetious.
Homer: Ohhhh, The Denver Broncos.
Marge: Whats wrong with the Denver Broncos?
Homer: Marge you just don't understand football.

I have always had this feeling that Dex hated non-profits
The YMCA, schools, charities – I’ve just always thought everything Dex has written here carried an anti-non-profit bias to it.
