Adrian Gonzalez: "He [Hoffman] should have been given the opportunity to come back"

XX Sports Radio: Adrian Gonzalez

  • Adrian didn't know about the news until Scott and BR called him
  • Adrian is pretty mad about Trevor's contract being withdrawn because he is such an unbelievable teammate.
  • "I can't think of the Padres without Trevor Hoffman"
  • "It hurts me knowing that he won't be there next year."
  • "He should have been given the opportunity to come back"
  • "They [the Front Office] are doing what they want to do and I really don't want to know about it.  If I know then I'll want to have an opinion on it, it's not my job to have an opinion on it.  It's my job to play and I'd like to leave it at that."
  • "I know now that I'll have to step up and be more of a leader"
  • Adrian has heard about the rumors of the Padres trying to deal Giles.
  • Gonzalez is definitely going to remember and consider this when he deals with contracts in the future.

All the players should listen to Adrian's advice

“It’s not my job to have an opinion on it. It’s my job to play and I’d like to leave it at that.”

Ron Rivera. Change we can believe in. YES WE CAN!

Totally true

but you’ve also got to be concerned about the comment that he will keep this in mind during future contract negotiations.

Yah

That scares me a little. But I think WG is probably right. (See above)

Adrian Gonzalez will never be confused with Jake Peavy

Hoffman already being claimed in NYC... Ughhhhh....

Holy crap, what a horrendous day. Here in New Jersey, where I’m likely the only Padres fan, it is unbearable today with the news of Trevor Time being up. Idiots who cover the New York Mets and bloggers in the arm pit of America already have Hoffman signed, sealed, and delivered to be the Mets’ closer. At least you lucky folks out west don’t have to deal with that type of BS today on the radio and in the papers in Southern California. By the way, most stupid ass Mets and Yankees fans have never heard of Adrian Gonzalez. Hey at least you guys are there and not here in the New York tri-state area.

Oh Adrian

Sierra Tango Foxtrot Uniform

Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you?

Adrian sounds pissed!!!

I wonder if this changes his status. The trade market for Adrian is probably way better than it is for Peavy and with Blanks coming up it wouldn’t surprise me.
