According to my source close to the team [St. Louis Cardinals], they’ll announce after the World Series that we’re getting Peavy and Greene for some prospects. I certainly hope this comes to pass.

I feel so bad for Khalil if he gets traded...

he’ll have to endure the Spicoli crap all over again.

Sexist!

The writer is a woman, Of course, one need only to look at her numerous articles about mascots to evaluate her credibility.

Two options here:

Either she’s sleeping with John Mozeliak…or she’s full of sh*t.

Yeah

What kind of ridiculous deal would that be, anyway? Do the Cards even have the tools to get this deal done?

No

For the record, this is not my attempt to imply subtly that Belichick is nothing without cheating and Tom Brady. Seriously. I am straight-out saying: Belichick is nothing without cheating and Tom Brady ~ DJ Gallo

depends on what you define as tools.

I just like that the related headlines under his post are:

“MLB Blotter: Pads’ Peavy Arrested "
"Sunday notes: Everybody loves Jake Peavy "
"Is Jake Peavy a cheater?”

Ahh, the duality of man.

prospects?

I really hope this isn’t true because it’s just an insane idea.

I see a problem here. Is Jake Peavy not desirable enough on his own that we have to add Khalil Greene…? They shouldn’t have to add anyone its effing Jake Peavy. And I understand Khalil’s trade value is extremely low right now, but is the best that the front office can do is prospects for him let alone him and Jake Peavy…? PROSPECTS? Are they really that desperate for a salary dump?

I can just see Sandy Alderson standing with a bunch of goons saying “Hello Padre fans. Please stand still and wait because we are going to shoot you in the foot, repeatedly. And by the way that will be 50 dollars”

Cardinals prospects aren't the greatest

I tried to piece together a deal that wouldn’t make me queasy, but with so many of the Cardinals prospects struggling in 2008 it is impossible. This rumor is a dud or KT has lost his mind.

Homer: Ohhhh, The Denver Broncos.
Marge: Whats wrong with the Denver Broncos?
Homer: Marge you just don't understand football.

Agreed.

Any deal for Peavy needs to start with a top ten prospect, a top 40 and a top 75.

The Cardinals may indeed meet that criteria

With Colby Rasmus, Chris Perez, and Bryan Anderson. However 2 of the 3 (Rasmus and Anderson) had trouble in 2008 and don’t look major league ready and have possibly lost some of their luster. Perez was good in 2008, but he is a relief pitcher. They also have Jaime Garcia and Adam Ottavino, but those two also struggled to the point where you wonder if they are top prospects anymore, and certainly neither are major league ready.

It's probably a dud

Not to mention Greene means you need to add more to the deal so yeah I don’t see the Cards having the firepower and FURTHERMORE there was an article from the Cardinals saying they’re not really in the running
