A telling statistic?
There are 188 comments on this thread at Lone Star Ball. All told, counting all recent Peavy trade-related posts on GLB, we are well south of 150. Have we, as Padres fans, quit caring? Has the season-long suck-fest drained our hopes to the point that we don’t care whether or not the Padres turn off the lights as they leave us lying on the couch waiting for the welcome respite of death?

That's affirmative
Jake Peavy symbolizes hope for these other teams. For us… hopelessness.

We lost hope
when we lost the Strasburg.
For the record, this is not my attempt to imply subtly that Belichick is nothing without cheating and Tom Brady. Seriously. I am straight-out saying: Belichick is nothing without cheating and Tom Brady ~ DJ Gallo

Indeed....
I don’t want to contemplate the possibility of losing the best pitcher to put on a padres uniform.

I'm pretty sure
It’s easier to get excited about a trade forJake Peavy than it is to get excited about trading Peavy.

Marge: Whats wrong with the Denver Broncos?
