Padres Mailbag
I'm an Atlanta Braves fan here, first off. There are a lot of rumors that the Braves are a team that might be able to trade for Jake Peavy. Any chance of it happening? -- Andy F., Sandy Ridge, N.C. I think there's a chance Peavy could get moved to another team before next season. But I think it's going to take a monster offer to get a deal done, meaning the Padres don't have to deal the right-hander. He'll make $11 million in 2009, which is regarded as affordable by today's standards for a pitcher of his stature. If a team blows the Padres away with an offer of top Minor League prospects, with some being close to being Major League ready, I think the Padres could bite. The Braves have some interesting prospects to dangle. Stay tuned.

Hahaha
Nope, although I have to admit, I clicked on the comments wondering if this was going to be a misconception.
I still stand confident that the Braves won’t get the Peavy – most Braves fans can’t get over the fact that the farm was “depleted” for the trade for Mark Teixeira which turned into the acquisition of Casey Kotchman, and like to imagine that the farm system was essentially traded for a mediocre Kotchman to begin with. But the truth is that a few seemingly valuable prospects were traded away two years ago, and getting back to a possible youth movement, I don’t think the org will move top-prospect guys like Jordan Schafer, Jason Heyward, or Tommy Hanson, even for Peavy.
So unless the Padres are willing to settle for more Wil Ledezmas and Marcus Gileses, I think I’ll be safe from having to buy the drinks.
No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.
Please
If I ever wrote to the Padres beat writer, I’d at least be clever enough to use a pseudonym that was initialed by “jh,” so i could sign it off as a run-on sentence thanks jh

I guess I'm down to trade Jake
If KT can get some uber redick package. I’d take Lester, Ellsbury, + prospects from the sucks. Or Huges, Joba, and prospects from the bombers. See? uber redick.
People the world over have always been more impressed by the power of our example than by the example of our power.

Same
I’m looking to land an entire minor league team and maybe some language in the trade contract that we would get Peavy back, or lots and lots of dirty money, if we don’t win 5 World Series championships as a result of this trade.
Uber redick
Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you?
