Peavy's Agent: "that's not what he signed on for"
Axelrod did not specifically mention the Yankees, but said, "Any kid, you’d imagine, always thinks about wearing the pinstripes some day. But it’d be a pretty significant move for him."

In some article I can't seem to find
Peavy was saying he’d only consider playing for a National League team. I thought it was BS, but it was his quote. With enough money I’m sure he’d play anywhere.

Great
Just what we need to see, Jake Peavy, turning into a fat Eddie Guardado-like fat American League pitcher.
:(
No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.

I actually believe it
I mean, have you ever seen a pitcher that loves hitting the ball and running the bases like he does? He’d have to give up what I think he sees as a huge part of his game to leave the NL for the AL.
Capri. Denial. It's a sweet sweet place; come join me....

If Peavy goes, the world may forget that the Padres exist.

When I was a kid
I dreamed of wearing Yankee pinstripes once.
Turns out I had the flu. I vomited a lot. It was awful.
Homer: Ohhhh, The Denver Broncos.
Marge: Whats wrong with the Denver Broncos?
Homer: Marge you just don't understand football.

Speculation
2009 will be Peavy’s last Padre campaign.
Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you?

you may have seen his last pitch
its beginning to look like there are a few of the fat ball clubs out there that are about ready to overwhelm the Padres.
Hank Steinbrenner is publicly kicking himself for not going harder after Johan Santana. I doubt he makes the same mistake twice.
I could see a biding war with the padres the beneficiaries.
go padres!
