Most San Diegans want a new owner because they want a guy who will come in with the attitude:
“I am going to bring the first ever major sports championship to San Diego.” Buying a minority share of the Padres doesn’t bring that person in. Basically, if it’s only 49% up for sale, then we are in for more of the same. I have no problem with that, I believe the current FO is building a team the right way and this year was a sort of purge of the old to bring in the new, but there are plenty others that will be disappointed that Moores will still be the Padres’ majority owner.

Marge: Whats wrong with the Denver Broncos?
Homer: Marge you just don't understand football.
