VENT 2008: Edmonds in TYIB Awards

Ok, 2008 sucked, we deserve to vent our anger, less we bottle up our anger and release it on innocent storage chests.

I'll start by unleashing my rage on Jim Edmonds being recognized for no good reason.

Start here and look under the 'Plays' section.

Look under the 'Play' section in the 2008 this year in baseball voting.
One nominee is Edmond's over the shoulder catch in Houston.
I remember this happening not too long after the Padres released him and the Cubs picked him up.

I remember how many fly balls he couldn't catch up to in SD, yet when he made this non-fantastic play running at an old man's pace, everyone shat themselves and immediately inserted this clip in every highlight reel possible, including but not limited to some of the 'there's only one october' ads. Yeah, because that catch is soooo october and not mid season.

All this while Jody Gerut began to regularly steal bloop singles away from many a hitter at PETCO.
In other words, DAMN YOU JIM EDMONDS! And yeah, we probably shouldn't have hired him in the 1st place...
