Around SBN: Jeremy Lin's Game-Winner Was Incredible, Worth Remembering

Open Thread, October Baseball

Dodgers and Cubs. Angels and Red Socks. Everybody in Southern California plays baseball today, but the Padres.

How do I root? How do I root? I guess I want the Angels over the Socks and the Cubs over the Dodgers. Sure. I'll go with that.

All my friends are Dodger fans...

…so I guess I’m rooting for LA.

I’ll be at game 3 at the Ravine on Saturday, wearing every piece of Padres gear I own. I don’t expect to make it out alive… :-)

So he’d make a good #3 on the Padres, right?

holy crap vin scully is old

listening to the game online. he just referred to Aramis as the Cubs’ “big butter and egg man”.

i’m opening this up to the peanut gallery. what the hell does that mean????

Now... bare with me here

because I don’t bake, but I have been known to get baked, so this may be convoluted.

When baking a cake, the butter and eggs hold all the flour together?

Also, Vin looks animatronic.

I acutally want the Dodgers to win the series so the Cubs bomb out and the fans cry.

I'd rather the Dodgers win

At least they’re a California team. And the Cubs and their fans are all such douches, I want to see them collapse and cry.

Cubs are so done. About to lose their EIGHTH straight postseason game. Even the Padres have won a postseason game recently.

Oh right….in their THROATS…gack….gack…gack

Bartman and the goat biatches!!!

I hate the Dodgers but bandwagon Cub fans are just as annoying…GO RAYS!

My wife says

“Can’t you see past it and root for the Cubs because it’s been so long?”
And I says “No way, they’ve had the fan base and the money to make a run for it forever. Why should I root for them because they so consistently suck?” Plus, their fans are loud, obnoxious morons.

What an embarrasment.

The Cubs won 97 games and were the highest scoring offense in the majors, and all they can manage is 3 runs in two games AT HOME.

Un-fucking-believable.

Wow

I think I pleasured myself no less than fifteen times watching the Cubs game. I must have rewound the DVR five times when they had that brief montage of the Cubs failing this year’s and last year’s playoffs, with clips of frustrated Cubs fans spliced in between shots.

I know the Dodgers are hated here, and I can understand that, but Pujols almighty, watching the Cubs get trounced, and to see their miserable fans all sad and weepy makes me ever so satisfied.

No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.

Sox/Rays

Watching Grant Balfour tell Orlando Cabrera to take a seat after striking him out last night was awesome.

by Winfield's Ghost on Oct 3, 2008 6:44 AM PDT reply actions

Orlando Cabrera

I’m thinking is the equivalent to Robert Horry of MLB. He’s seemingly always on a playoff team.

2004 – traded to Red Sox, wins title
2005 – jumps to Angels, goes to ALCS
2006 – rare miss
2007 – still with Angels, goes to ALDS
2008 – goes to White Sox, sneaks into playoffs again

Sure it’s not as impressive as Horry’s Rockets, Rockets, Suns, Lakers, Lakers, Lakers, Lakers, Spurs, Spurs run, but it’s also a lot harder to get into the MLB playoffs than the NBA’s. . .

No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.
